I know better. I’ve been on several camping trips before. But this trip was different. I wasn’t going camping, I left to just drive to another city to test out partially marketing Lyft promo cards, and partially just to get out of town to clear my head.
So far I’ve spent $124.85 on this trip and haven’t made a dime. I thought I might need a tent and a chair, so I bought one at Walmart. Then I realized I needed much more like toothpaste and a toothbrush, deodorant, a razor and shaving cream.
Yes, I walked out the door, got into my car with what I had on and started driving. However, I did take 500 Lyft promo cards to hand out.
My first stop landed me in Indianapolis, Indiana. I arrived sometime around 8:00 p.m. I stopped at a Kroger’s grocery store to get some food. After eating a banana and a energy bar, I Googled the nearest free camping ground. The nearest one was on Kentucky about 1-1/2 hours away. That lead me to going to Walmart.
I ended up after my survival purchases driving to a rest stop 20 miles away. I slept there overnight, waking up around 1:00 a.m. With my mind racing with thoughts about survival, how Indianapolis residences lives, and when I might need to turn back to Chicago.
